Livonia, MI- (December 14, 2004) – Software developer Stardock Entertainment is releasing a free campaign for users of the expansion pack to its award-winning strategy game, Galactic Civilizations. The campaign, called “Prelude to War”, sets the back story for Galactic Civilizations II which is due out at the end of next year.

Galactic Civilizations is a space based strategy game in which the player is the leader of human civilization in deep space and competes against unknown races to colonize planets while attempting to dominate and survive. The game has won a host of awards including Computer Games Magazine and Computer Gaming World Editor’s Choice Award, Games Domain’s Top Game Award, Wargamer’s Reader’s Choice Award 2003, and GameSpy’s Turn-Based Strategy Game of the Year 2003 Award.
